Across organisations, there is a noticeable pattern of skill and capability building needs at CXO minus level. In smaller organisations, the second-level leaders are highly motivated, but lack exposure to managing and leading organisations (in terms of processes, delegation, decision making etc.)

EdelGive Foundation wanted to support NGOs in the Women Empowerment domain with key skills in a highly contextualised program. X-leap was selected as a partner to design and deliver customised programs spanning different areas.

The Problem Solving and Communication program focused on building a basic approach to problem solving including contextualising problems, taking an analytical and creative approach as well as communication and stakeholder management. Key takeaways from the program were:

• Develop a vocabulary to approach problem solving
• Solving complex problems of various nature
• Influencing impact through communication
• Contextual (apply to real life situations)
• Peer network (a network for life to support and learn from)
